RevenueWell Systems has been named one of the area’s fastest growing companies in 2019 by Crain’s Chicago Business.

For the third consecutive year, RevenueWell has been named one of Chicago’s Fast 50 companies. The distinction comes from Crain’s Chicago Business, who each year recognizes the fastest growing companies in Chicagoland.

This year, RevenueWell placed 15th on the list.

“It’s pretty wild,” says Content Marketing Manager Jonathan Bass. “We’re always running full-speed, but it really feels like this place has exploded in the past year. I remember last July sitting in our new downtown Chicago office and there were just four or five of us. In less than a year we’ve already outgrown it.”

According to Crain’s, in order to be eligible, companies must have generated at least $15 million in revenue and be headquartered in one of the following Illinois counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, or Will. Companies headquartered in Lake County in Indiana were also eligible.

Crain’s methodology is as follows:

Revenues from 2013 and 2018 were validated with documentation from each applicant. Companies provided audited financial statements, tax returns or other formal documentation, and Crain’s worked with the Chicago office of Plante Moran to assist in verifying the financial documents provided by applicants. The five-year growth percentage was calculated using the verified revenue figures from 2013 and 2018, and employee numbers refer to full-time staff as of Dec. 31.

In 2018, RevenueWell generated $23.7 million in revenue, which contributed to a five-year growth of 721%.

The Fast 50 marks RevenueWell’s second award from Crain’s this calendar year. Earlier in 2019, the company was named one of Chicago’s best places to work — its second consecutive distinction.

So, as its trophy case continues to grow, it begs the question: what’s next for RevenueWell?

“Hard to say,” says Bass. “When I first started, there was only one SKU and a partially full office in Bannockburn. Now we have an expansive product line, and two offices bursting at the seams with energetic talent. From the way our founders talk, it feels like we’re only limited by our imagination — which is pretty exciting to think about!”
